But anyway, I'd take a '05 mustang, those things are hot. My business partner is going to get a '05 GT and send that thing off to bonspeed. Did you see the bonspeed Black Rose? THat thing is hot. I think I'll sleal it a couple days a week. Still not better than the Lancer though.
thanks for the correction. I don't like being wrong, but it's worse to be wrong and be the only person who doesn't know it :-p

Other than the STI, there really isn't a car comparable to the EVO's performance in it's price range. Sure there are some cars that are quicker or faster, but they still can't match the EVOs all around performance numbers. You'd have to go up to $40,000 and above before a car can touch an EVO stock for stock.

3000ways, I think you're right. And that seems to be the common opinion. The only other car I'd buy (except an STi, if there was no EVO) would be a GT-R. And to be completely honest, I might trade in a Lancer for a GT-R. But in America, there is no comparison, especially in the price range. I could have just as easily got an M3, but honestly if they were both the same price, I'd take the Lancer. It's just more my style I guess.

Wow... Bravo guys. A discussion without pissing on each others opinions! Now this is readable. A big for all of you.
Personally, I see the EVO as a family sports car. But the kids in the back and drive it like you stole it. Great family hauler.
But a coupe to match, hmm, good question there are two ways you could go. Keeping within the same price class, cause we have an EVO already. I would think for fuel efficiency maybe a Si, but that isn't ussually how I think. I want something with great handling and descent power. I think the Elise stacks up pretty well for the quick juant to the store for diapers or blockbuster. Pretty descent gas mileage too but the looks are pretty aggressive and the price is a little steep. Maybe a mazdaspeed miata? Pretty cheap and tunable? with the turbo? I would probably go elise though.
Not that the 350/G35 is a bad car, I just see way too many of them.
Let's not kid ourselves with Porches and other exotics, because we all know a Ferrari 575 with F1 and that awesome V12 is about the best coupe there is.

Good points k_fabec.
The threads I start tend to be more civilized.
I the the Miata is too expensive too. You add some options, and it's in the mid 20's all the sudden! Hell, I can get a S2000 if I wanna pay $29k. But both of those options, along with the 350Z and Vette are too impractical for me if it's my only car. I just need a back seat sometimes!
Now, in a perfect world, I could keep the Evo and pick up a coupe for better mileage and still have a fun aggressive ride, but nothing is perfect.
