Fuel gauge not reading right.

I was wondering if your fuel gauge is reading right. Before when I fill up and add an extra $.50 at the pump, my gauge would hit pass the "F" mark. Now lately my gauge would hit the same, pass the "F" but then go down the opposite. Do any of you guys have this situation? I heard of a few people having this problem and took it to the dealer to get a new sending unit but after a while it happens again.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly...But let me tell you about a month ago, my Fuel gauge started reading poorly also. When I fill up my tank, it falls a decent amount short of the "f" mark (it reads maybe a hair above the 3/4 line). My fuel gauge will already be down to the 1/4 mark after driving 125 - 150 miles. When I fill my tank up, it usually takes less than 8 gallons to refill. I'm not terribly concerned though...it's annoying, but I figure I'll just get it fixed under warranty, whn I have the time!

fuels expand when its hot. Maybe that's causing it. it's that or something isn't grounded right...

the tank takes 14 gal, 10 gal to use, 4 gal for reserve. When you hit the light, you've used the 10 gal.

Mine goes right to the line when totaly filled, but not past it. At 140-150 miles I am right on the half tank line.

My gauge was hosed from . Dealer had to change out the tank sensor unit. It didn't go the full completely when full. Dealer can check the resistance of the sender. How does yours read when getting close to empty?? Does the light and the gauge read close?? You can simply pull the cluster out and adjust the needle if you want.

This just barely started happening about a month or so ago...I've honestly never taken my fuel down low enough to have the light turned on...maybe I'll have to try that.

This happen to me once and after 10 mins over the crappy roads it went up to Full. I thought the level might be stuck in the tank since the car hits the bumps pretty hard. It was on my 03 BTW.

Ive had the gauge go up past the F only when ive topped of....try taking her in to Mitsu....but then again, they might blame it on a turbo timer

Mine reads fine. Sometimes it fills up a little past the f, but not much. I usually hit the 1/4 mark after about 180-200 miles.
