your thoughts on the mini battery?

How does it hold up compared to the factory battery? Does it have enough juice to start your car after 2 weeks of storage?

I've been deployed for the last two and a half months. My friend comes by once a month to start it and he's told me it starts no differently than when I start it normally.

It's a Buschur mini kit BTW. HTH

Which battery do you have and has it died on you yet? Charging it once a week sounds like a pain, why dont you get a battery tender?

I was planning on getting a mini battery too, to save weight. But I'm afraid about my lights dimming and everything...

when ur car is running it doesnt really use ur battery normal size or mini it runs off the alternator thats why if you start ur car unplug the battery every thing still works its also a good test to make sure your alternator is putting out enough current. battery is normaly only used when car is off or to start the car.

hope this bit of useless knowledge helpd

plus, if your lights dim because you have a sound system, you can get a cap like any of the ones listed in the link below - they really help eliminate that anoying bass = headlight dimming problem.

verry tru capacitors help with heavy hitting bass if it dims ur lights takes the strain off your battery. on average for every 1000watt amp you want a 1 farad ( sp? ) capacitors if you have a 500 watt amp you want a .5 farad capacitors but if you are big into sterios ya should all ready know that

but if not more food for the brain.

for the capacitor to work correctly you put it on the positive side of the amp between the battery and the amp. not on the ground and not where you plugg ur sub / speakers in. also the capacitor can help clean up altinator noise if its comeing thru the positve line. if not their are ground loop isolators ( sp ) for the audio imputs.

even tho that doesnt have much to do with the origional question. sorry for the ramble kinda bored.

Question

Anyone who has had this mini battery setup through a cold winter, please chime in. Does it crank w/o problems in the cold?

I dont think a mini battery is recommended if you have a upgraded stereo system. Even with a 1 farad capacitor it aint going to be enough.

I have the 680 oddesy and an upgraded stereo with no problems. Of course it is just 1 JL amp and a JL10 w6 speaker so nothing too crazy but anyway no problems here!
