why the fight srt4 vs evo

i'm in the same boat here, trying to make up my mind

i like both of them, they are both badass cars

don't knock the srt4 till you drive one, you WILL be greatly impressed!

Does there need to be a EVO vs SRT-4 track day...hehehehehehe


STI VS EVO trac day = EVO wins...(pick up Motortrend)

I guess the Srt is faster then a STI too...

I like the srt. They sound nice when idle and when droped they look clean...but I go back to my point there is no comparison with the EVO.

Facts are Facts. I've been in SRTs before, there are a ton of them clogging up the roadways where I live.

They still don't compare to the EVO in any way, no matter how bad you want them to.

I was happy to just read through the arguements and not comment until I read this post. Im an Evo fan, and will end up buying one after college is done in December, but the SRT-4 always appealed to me for its bang for the buck. If I didnt have my Lancer, I definately would have bought an SRT-4 when they came out. That being said Ive test driven a couple Evos and SRT-4s, and each time both myself and the people with me (be it a girlfriend, father, friends, etc) all commented that the SRT-4 was fun, but the interior was complete crap. Now this is in comparison to my regular lancer. There are odd plastic gaps all over the SRt-4, the switch-gear and handles (esp the hood pull) feel flimsy, and the overall fit and finish is NOWEHRE near that of the Lancer/Evo. The doors and trunk on the SRT-4 rattle when closed on the showroom floor. Now its fine to sit here and debate whos faster after which mods, but you cannot debate two things.

1. The Evo is faster stock than the SRT-4, and is a much better overall platform (albiet for more money)

2. The Neons interior is not even close to the quality of the Lancers.....(Even ask the guys over on SRT forums, which I also frequent as well)

Like I said stock for stock Evo wins hands down. I mean it has to with a price tag of 10k more than the srt.

You can't have everything for 21k. That's where the aftermarket comes in.

Although it would seem that the SRT-4 was aimed at more of a drag strip car its still very competitive on the road course. If you don't have a clue read about it.
