Two TOTALLY different cars, built for different audiences, and purposes. But for some reason, people compare them.
I'm just having fun, at their expense.

The problem is that there are alot of cars that fall into the 20k-30k range and that is what most poeple can afford when buying a new car. You've got alot of good cars in that range, I think even the super charged cobra mustang is in that range?
And who made that comment about omni's damn you!
As far as gears I dont know for sure, the srt-4 is geared pretty tall, 2nd goes to about 65, 3rd goes to about 90 and 4th to about 120.

Sorry about the OMNI comment!
Yeah, I think that the gearing is pretty close then. I dunno about that 4th gear though. By that time I'm trying to keep my eyes on the road!
Not sure about that on the Cobra, but those are wicked. A guy over here has a new Mystic one. Ohhhhh, it's PIMP!

I saw a blue one on ebay a week ago. It was in really good shape, I dunno what it went for.
They've got old-school pimp factor though!
I can't believe you'd sell it!

To me, the evo and the srt4 are from schools of different thought. They were each bread in culturely different lands. The evo has ~ten years of rally experiance and thought behind it. You have to admit, its requirments are different than that of a street car; those being a focus on an awd system obeying lateral, steering and throttle imputs at different road conditions. The evolution exceeds this as ive done off roading in this vehicle. The srt4 has the FWD advantages (you know lol) Regardless, the aftermarket will dicatate which plateform will out run/handle which
The srt4 to me is a break out car where the domestic automakers have decided to come out with a 4cyl that would compete with many of cars of higher class (price)
Not only does is it recieved with a very respectable 1/4 time sand reasonable handling stats, but the vehicle itself is VERY robust. Thanks to a Mitsubishi turbo charger, they have the advantage of using a proven, well built turbo with MHI research and production backing new turbo's for the srt4.
I applaude Dodge/Chrysler for not obeying the bean counters and letting the visionaries produce fun cars. GM should take note.
