I hate the wing on the EVO. I think it is functional but tasteless. Sometimes I miss not having a stereo, but then again I love the sound of the engine and road noise. I don't know about the GSR but the RS rides very stiff. I also love the fact that it's so plain looking, no HID, no ABS, no power locks or windows, no upholstery in the trunk, no sound deadening on the undercarriage, rear brace, aluminum roof, black door handles and mirrors, no rear wiper, front helical LSD, no sunroof....there are no distractions in this car. After driving this car for a week you will definately miss the convenience of the power items but learn to live with it.

I called her, spoke to her... the only problem is the trade....I told her I was looking to get 17,000-18500 for my SRT4... she told me that it seemed to be a little bit high, but she said that she'll call me back

cool so you can get similar pricing on the RS!

hehe, I hope she'll appreciate the reference and send me a coupon or something...

so why don't you like the SRT?

Evo's gonna feel slower at first due to AWD drive train and it's heavier.

And be prepared for some STIFF ride!!! muhahahaha....

I'm bored of it, I need better handling, better braking abilities, more rear legroom. The SRT has traction problems

The thing that I miss the most in the RS is no ABS. Think long and hard about that. The rest is all good.

No kidding. I would really worry about letting somebody else drive my car in the rain. Heck, I'm even worried about my own reaction in an emergency.

$26K out the door is a GREAT price. I paid $26,100 for my '04 RS, plus California 8.25% sales tax and license, for a total of $28,501 out the door. That was $300 over invoice and I thought it was a pretty good deal 'til I heard about yours. Don't think anyone sells them that low in Calif.

I don't miss ABS. I have to agree with you and admit that the absence of electronic door looks is kinda a pain. I don't mind the wind-up windows, but having to check the locks on all 4 doors and lock and unlock them manually (especially when I'm with my 3 kids and we are really using all 4 doors) is no fun. I hate to say that, since I'm such a fan of the RS. It's not enough of a reason to buy a GSR or MR.

so tell us about your daily ride comfort w/ coilovers.

I thought my Eibach w/ stock struts was stiff. My body was numb after 12 hr road trip! My passenger did'nt appreciate it too much...

Oh, to top it off - I get a speeding ticket!

Power locks- boy do I miss it! It's ok when I'm driving alone but when you carry passengers... I feel for you and your kids!

i paid 26,700 plus tax and then wasted 2g on extended warrenty... man i wish i knew about that one.. also i purchased the first of june...when 2weeks later they offerrd 3yrs. free scheduled maintnence with 100,000 mile warrenty... but what can i do... but besides that this is the best car for the money up to 50 g's ... and easily the best with 10g in mods.. if u figure i paid 26,7 for the car and the MR is 35... our 0-60 are identical but i fall off a little in the qtr.. something like 12.9 to 13.2/3 but with the 9 grand in my pocket i can surely knock off more time in the qtr.. but as a daily driver it is great total sleeper and cops dont know the wiser.. unless they already know whats up....like mr evopolice... but anyways car sounds meaner on the inside from the lack of dampening . but i like it sounds cool the windows sometimes bug me but u get used to it quick.. this car has the same skidpad rating as the brand new 05 corvette .95 the new 911 carerra at 90,000 only does .94 and the 0-60 in the porsche vette and rs evo are ....4.4,4.5, 4.6/7... so at half the price of a vette and one third the price of the porsche.. the evo has a trunk and four doors the others not really. well worth the money ... just be ready for the hike in the car ins.. otherwise.. is the best car out there as far as im concerned ....and ive had it for 5.5 mo.. and still no stereo. Funny thing though.. went to a tuner shop yesterday.. they had a brand new mr with only 50 miles on it..all torn apart.. it was cool but... when i saw it i was like damn theres and evo.. regardless of the fact i drove like a madman the way there and had burnt rubber smell from tires when i parked.. i think it's just cause the wing think i'll probably add it ...

as for my insurance, it's no more than my previous Lancer econo wagon - maybe cheaper for my RS. I'm not kidding. I was shocked but hey I took it!

they just asked how much the car was worth, I said 25k and I'm paying 360/semi!

hmmm, where's the "**** capital" usa?

I like a firm ride -- the JIC's are great and the car really handles with the Mueller tune. My 14-year-old daughter doesn't like the ride, too harsh for her.

But the EVO RS is not my daily driver. I commute most of the time in my Audi, and wouldn't subject a date to the RS.
