I am soon to be getting an evo, and am thinking of the RS. Why should I and why should i not get the RS and go with the regular GSR. Cost is an issue. Thanks

thers many of the similar posts out there like this...generally though, RS lacks the "luxury" goodies (sound deadeners, rear wipers, etc) so if ur into that...then......gl

however if u dont really care about the loudness/roughness/whatever and dont mind not having power windows/lock/etc, then im sure ull fall in love with the RS

I have been driving my RS for about a month and a half now. At first I think I coveted the rear wing that the GSR sports but I've grown very fond of my "plain" RS. It's Weightless White and I've been told by many "non" tuner people that it looks very European and sporty without looking 'rice'. There are times that I miss the power stuff, but I can remember my first car, and Alfa Romeo GT Veloce which was brand new in 1980 and it too had manual mirrors and windows and I thought it was the s**t then too!

Buy the RS. Save tons of money and mod that bad boy up!

Thanks for the replies so far, if i did get the RS i was thinking of just adding the wing afterwards. And also would be getting it in Weightless White also. I would add speakers, and then i would be perfect. No need really i think for the power windows and power mirrors. My 2000 jeep wrangler doesnt have them, and it really is that hard to live without. Thanks again for the replies, and keep them coming.

I had a full option red '03 gsr and it was too F&F, high schooler's with fart cans were always trying to race me. I much prefer the RS and I don't miss the amenities...I prefer as lightweight as I can get.

If you think you will want to power accessories and/or wing...just get a used '03, or a new leftover...they can be had for the same or less $$$.

Get a 05 white RS. It has all most MR goodies and will look awesome with the the MR wing. It'll match with the black door handles and black MR lights if you'd ever go that route

Talking

'05s are a tough call, you get ABS (you can't add easily) and the wing (can be $$$ to add). But the RS is low key and has aluminum roof. The stock stereo is crap and the RS is prewired so no worries there. '04 RS does not have power mirrors, not sure if '05 does. This can be a pain if you share your car with the wife/gf, not a problem for me wife can't drive stick.

Thumbs up re:

I have a weightless white 04 RS, and absolutely love it. I was too gonna get an aftermarket wing, but decided not to. I like the sleeper look, draws less attention. But I did order a little lip spoiler from a Honda Accord, or BMW. Which ever it is. It's really suttle and hardly noticeable. I chose the white because it easier to paint over.

My 2cents.

Like the other guy said... get the RS and save the money.

Love my '04 white RS. Price is one reason. Plus they take all the useless stuff out of it. It used to take me a long time to take everthing out of my 350Z at the racetrack to save weight. With the RS, it takes about a minute to remove the spare tire and you are done.

On my 04' RS,

Pros:
- paid 26k out the door, almost 8 -10k less than GSR, MR
- low key

Cons:
- no pwr locks

Ummm, that's it!

Got it at JBA Mitsu in Glen Burnie, MD. To be exact, it was 24.5k + tag+ 5% Md tax. It was 500 below invoice. Look up Bonnie the sales woman, tell her I sent you...
