Also, the 05' EVO will be the last true Mitsu EVo in the states. That scares me although I like the SRT's. Chrysler's engine for the 2nd gen Eclipses sucked. If any of this is true then I will no longer seek an EVO after 05' Get them while you can. If anyone can correct me or share any light on this. Please do so.
Where did you get that info???!!!
Completly not true
You guys Have one more year of the Evo VIII. (Evo with dodge parts HA lol)
2006 is the Last year of the Evo VIII. Then Mitsu is debating weather or not to Bring the EVO IX or the Colt.
#2 It wasn't Chryslers engine in the 2nd Generation Eclipses it was Mitsu's engine in the Plymoth Lazer. And the GST and GSX are still some of the best cars of there time. Dude you don't know anything your saying.
Sorry I don't need to bag on you.
You just need to do a little research before you post

np man, I am still researching it. Here is the link to the thread for which I got the info. I am still looking for concrete evidence to the claims. It is true that the Neon will be changed based on the Mitsu Lancer platform as well as Mitsu Raider which is based on the Dodge Dakota platform "minus the Hemi".

Here's what I have been told.....from the Crysler rep. ( Sit down , this is going to hurt ).
The next "Neon", will be a Mitsubishi platform built by Hundai in Korea. OH ****! There goes the neighborhood.
Taken from the above link.
Oh my if this is true, This is making me wonder what and if the EVO lX will be?

OK you thread pirates...LOL...I think you might be confusing the "world engine project" as some sort of corporate merger, when in fact it's just a joint engineering venture between Daimler Chrysler, Hyundai, Mitsubishi to develope a shared engine platform that could be mass produced in order to save the almighty dollar. I think the latest is that the "world engine" will be a 2.0L four cyclinder generating close to 250hp WITHOUT any form of forced induction. Now imagine what it could do with a lower compression ratio and a snail. Mmmmmmm 320hp turbo 4 banger. Who knows? Might end up in the Evo someday.

Give up your brand loyalty and look at somethig different for a change....
Good things about EVO
1. handling
2. awd (traction)
3. power
4. bullet proof motor
5. electronic gizmos (makes a good driver better)
6. huge aftermarket mod potential
7. brakes
Bad things about EVO
1. awd (more drivetrain loss)
2. weight
3. price
4. electronic gizmos (more weight, potential costly fixes)
Good thing about SRT-4
1. price
2. power
3. more displacement (low end torque)
4. factory staged upgrades
5. weight
6. intoxicating exhaust note
Bad things about SRT-4
1. handling
2. Fwd (traction becomes an issue when adding more power)
3. factory ecu hard to mod
4. respect
What if we could have a car that was 4 door, 2.4liter and 300+hp turbo'd stock, with awd, good brakes and suspension at 3000lbs that was $25k? Why woudn't you buy that car? I wouldnt care if it said Kia on the side....

4. respect I have to disagree with this one, I have yet to run into anyone disrespecting me...most people cringe and back down when I roll by them.

But I'm still trying to sell my SRT4 for an 05 White RS or a Yellow 05 GSR
