Question evo or an mr?

aight ya'll i just curious as to how many of you love your evo compared to the new mr, or vise versa. me, personally i rather an evo over an mr. i test drove an evo and then got to drive my friends mr. i could feel the difference between both of them. i feel that the evo is a lot quicker then the mr. so please vote as to what car you rather have.

MR is quicker than the Evo it handles better its set up with more features its just a better trim of the Evo.

MR < GSR < RS

they are all evo's but MR is top of the line.

I have a GSR tranny on it is solid but the clutch is weak so far everyone I have talked to with an MR says the same thing their clutches go out but everything else holds up fine. The MR deffinately shifts smoother and has a shorter throw and the 6 speed so as far as that goes MR wins plus it has the ACD but you pay an extra 5-8k for it depending on markup so its all about whats important.

Are mr's still available? I would like to get one but have heard of problems with the clutch. Are these problems (not specifically) due to racing or just regular wear and tear?

bro get an rs... just as fast as an mr.. cept in the qtr.. .3 off. and 9grand cheaper... stock stereo sucks so u buy one anyways.. and the whole powerdoor/window thing really doesnt bother me. plus the cops dont give u **** at all...looks like a regular lancer... ultimate sleeper.. although with the giant wing the evo looks like a shark going threw the water.

Why do you keep asking if you should get an Evo or an MR?

AN MR IS AN EVO.

GSR or MR is more the question.

If you're gonna keep it bone stock, then MR...if you're gonna mod it up, then save your $$$ and get the GSR (regular Evo)...

Couldn't have said it any better. Stock buy the MR if you want to mod save the extra cash buy a GSR and put that saved 5g's into mods. Like I said before I have no clue why people bought the MR when they are making over 300whp on there GSR

Man you gotta get an RS.

Why is it no one really considers the RS except the ture racing fanatic.

The RS is the fastest out of the Three on the track. The MR is only faster in the Quater mile.
Plus the money you save over the other two you could uprade it yourself. It would cost you about 2500 to Put PW, PL, PM, an CF tail, and a kich A** sound system. Or you could just Spend $1000 on the Sound and $2000 on Mod's.

I like the second Choice better.

With the extra $5000 You save over the MR, you can blow it at Vegas or buy a cheap preowned daily driver. Or even better take a trip to see the 2005 WRC Rally in Europe and Africa. See how the pro's do. Oh yea, I'm positive they will be drivin an RS. Not no MR??!!

if you have plenty of $$$ then go for the mr and mod it. then you'll be quicker than modded regular evo.

MR vs. 05 STi

05 Evo/ 05 Evo RS vs. impreza

I have an MR and I love it. That being said, I think the GSR is a much more prudent choice. You save a bunch of $$$ and that can go a long way in modding. If money is a consideration which it is for most, go GSR or even RS if you don't mind roll-up windows etc. Really all depends on your budget and personal preferences.
