Did my Evo just get screwed up?? - urgent replies needed!!

Wats up fella's?

Okay here's what happened,

I was driving down a road, and then I was supposed to make a left onto one of the streets, except I didn't realize till the last moment, and I tried to make a sharp turn. What happened is, my rear swung out and the whole car just spun (i gotta admit, it was really cool hehe) ...then it stalled cz i accidently let off the clutch. So then i try to start the car up again, and it kept trying to start but wouldn't, then i took the key out and put it back in and then tried starting it, it hesitated a bit, but started up. But now there's a SERVICE ENGINE light showing up that won't go away.

What happened? how come the light came on? Can somebody explain why the light is on, and if my car is okay, and what can I do to fix the light?

Thanks in advance.

did you hit something or just spin?? and possably you hit the fuel cutoff switch with out knowing it ... i dont got my manuel with me read the manuel and check for a fuel cut switch.

fuel cut switch normaly only happens after hitting something but possably if you spun fast enought it might think uhit somthing. and poped. all you need to do is reset it.

You may have spun the engine over backwards by letting the clutch out while rolling backwards. Once the car started how did it run? If it runs fine I would take it to an auto parts store and get the code pulled. If it's still running fine and the code is nothing major reset your computer and call it a day.

yea i let the clutch out while rolling backwards. Once the car started it ran fine, i happened to be a few hundred feet from where I needed to go, so i j/drove it very slowly and then parked it. I didn't go over 20mph afterwards so I duno if it'll be any different then.

Should I go to mitsubishi? or should I just go to Autozone or something since they do it for free I think.

I've heard of a few people doing similiar things as your incident and when they stalled there car the check engine light came on. I don't think it's a big deal, but go have it checked out. No one has ever posted up what the SES light was for. I'll search around and if you go and have it checked out let us know what code was thrown. good luck.

It's the crank angle sensor codes. Sometimes these codes will cut when you stall the car. The codes will clear after a few starts. The other option is to have a mechanic pull the codes and clear them.

Could be a fuel trim code also.... might of loaded the engine up with fuel , probably rich mixture fault.
