I know there's not much to a high-flow cat. It makes it street legal, having a cat and all...but it doesn't do too much, especially being 3" with a 3" downpipe and true 3" cat back.

No. What stinks is when someone beats you because you have a cat! lol. If you have the stock size wheels I'm guessing about 287. But everything depends on what parameters they use at FIS on their dyno.

At MZM they use 14.5 hp at 50mph at 3400 lbs.(+/-) vehicle wt. and I make about 260hp. At Wasabi I made like 299hp. Both have Mustang Dynos, just use different set-ups.

Do you know what they use at FIS?

Kinda gives you an idea how really useless dyno numbers are though. Ain't it?
Nothing like a 40 hp swing on two of the same dynos to snap you back to reality.
You should really only look at dyno numbers as a basis for how you have improved your car. Not who's got what big numbers. I'm not saying this how you perceive dyno numbers, just presenting a way to keep it real.

I had my base dyno done at FIS though, so I'll just keep going back there when I'm curious about MY numbers. I think the only real way to believe dyno numbers are to use the same one all the time, and only compare to other cars who have used that same dyno.

The MD 7100 which is what we had was calibrated to be as close as possible to real world driving.

FIS has the previous version of ours and I am sure they are updated as well.

In my opinion if a EVO is laying down 300HP on a Mustang then be looking for 360-375 on a Dynojet. There are a lot of varibles in getting the same number.

- You car maybe sitting in the shop and the motor as well as tires are the same as the ambient temp.
-Ambient temp and humidity is also a big issue.
-Fans and cooling on the car is also a factor.
-Rolling drag on the dyno

Basically it's a small glimpse of power at a certain time. On a dyno day ( driving the same type of car over and over) you may see 3 different numbers on 3 different pulls.

It's merely a gauge; to some degree a platflorm so you can say what power is what when changing diffent mods or progamming on the ECU. I am no tech, this is just experience from what I have seen and heard from very trust worthy sources.

i would say almost all of the time you will not get a cop that will get on his knee's and look under your car...if anything you might get a $40 ticket for having a "loud Muffler"
