People who blacked out their Headlights... Is lighting now worse?

I am really wanting to do this to my Evo, but I am worried that the magnificent lighting provided by the OEM headlights will be affected negatively.

Can anyone comment on the illumination of the OEM lights vs the Blacked out projectors?

How much worse?

Good lighting is key to driving safely at night.

Why do you want to black out your lights? That is so 80's Camaro and Mustang. I got pulled over for having blackouts on my 1991 Eclipse GSX. If you really want go for the MR light swap.

I am not going for the tinted look... I would like black colored housings, much like the JDM MR Headlights.

You did not notice a difference in lighting? I love the color scheme and design of your vinyl.

Tastefully done

I figure I might as well do it anyway.

Im going to have the bumper off to install my Samco IC pipes, so the Headlights will be a cinch to remove.

If they are too dark for me, Im sure I can find someone to trade me for what I paid.

you don't notice a difference...with the evo8 the hid and high beam bulbs have their own surrounds that stay chrome (tucked in the light a bit) so they reflect and show the same. On a lancer they are different and if you blacked it out i am sure would show a loss of light quality and brightness
