turboback vs. catback
I wanted to upgrade my exhuast, I was wanted going to buschur because it close to me and I'd prefer to have the manufacturer install. I was going for a stage one type affect, but unsure if I should change the full exhaust, or just the catback. Comparatively with performance and warranty coverage. I understand that the MBC and issues, but I would make sure that wasn't taken into account. Which style will give me the best results with the least dealership problems, also should/could I keep the stock cat.
Thanks

keep the cat if you want your warranty. Try not to balance with evo, it's not going to work if you want performance. Consider it not having warranty as soon as you put aftermarket things in there.
Without cat, you're breaking the federal law, so I would go with cat-back.

you could always get the turboback with a highflow cat. Technically (I think) it's illegal to replace a working cat with less than 80k miles but that seems like a minor point if you are putting another one on. That may also only be an IL thing.
Also, some people don't like the sound of !cat, you should try and hear some in person at a local meet first. I love the sound

i have had the money to buy a catback, but i am gonna wait and do turbo back. i will probably run a punch through cat, or none at all. we dont have emissions where i live, and i have never been too worried about it. no one will get under there and look, at least here.

my dealership told me that cat back wont void warranty but everything else will, so id go cat back if i wanted to keep warranty, until you can save up for DP at least.

I love it. Shooting fires out and flowing much better.
You get used to the smell after a bit. You don't even smell it.

on topic:
you could just take the cat, gut it, and wrap it around a test pipe and call it a day,

Thanks for the input. I have the money for either mod. I didn't want to loose the warranty. I spoke to me dealer, and they said that they wouldn't report my parts to mitsubishi if I come in for maintainence. I figured If I have a problem how hard would it be to go back to stock, and go to another dealer. Also should I be worried about the warranty if I get a flash?
