I've read that the "Sun, Sound and Leather package actually adds 65lbs to the weight of the car. The majority of that being the sunroof. With all the hype over the aluminum roof on the MR lowering the cg,and it saves only 9lbs, I'd bet saving 50lbs off the roof would be a much bigger deal. I do not have a sunroof.

unless im racing everyday for money or for a competition, im going with the sunroof. this is going to be my daily driver. gotta conserve the gas you know. wouldnt mind having the sunroof with the nice california breeze 
yea its 35 pounds, and i am going to have fun here and there, but not that important enough not to get it. the sunroof is a must for me. 
you appreciate the sunroof more when you dont have to turn on the a/c at 9pm to defrost your windows. turning on the a/c at night should be illegal 
either way, the evo is amazing with or without the sunroof. even if i didnt want the sunroof, id still get it cuz i want the HID's

The moonroof is worthwhile if you live in a part of the country with a hospitable climate.... If the weight is that big an issue, don't get it. As mentioned the moonroof also provides an alternate vent when in its tilt mode.
