Angry Carbon fiber engine cover installed

I just received my HKS Kansai engine cover kit, I installed it and drove for more or less 150miles... Unfortunately the beautiful carbon finish look is turning brown, like it was being burned by the engine heat.
Someone with this problem?
Is it normal? or HKS made a low quality part?

I have the pics before at: http://coatings.fotoblog.uol.com.br

Right now I'm looking at the parts in my hands, the engine carbon cover with 150 miles of use, it is a mix of brown/yellow with black and the timming belt cover = not installed yet, beautiful, bright black/gray finish.

I noticed that under the bright carbon finish there is a base made of black plastic or real carbon(I could see because a small part of the verniz finish fell where you fasten the bolt).

Maybe it is not real carbon, just a coat of carbon imitation.

I will post the pic in a few hours...

looks real. Maybe it wasn't finished right.

base is most of the time made of plastic, but don't see why they would put a base in something that doesn't need structure.

It's not supposed to be a 'carbon finish look'. It's supposed to be real carbon weave. Where did you buy that from? I have both pieces on my car as well. The color stayed fast even after 2500 miles of driving.

I am curious for pics as well. I have been considering this piece too but this is the first bad news I've seen.

I just took the pictures of the carbon engine cover with a burned color:

http://coatings.fotoblog.uol.com.br/

Then click at: "ver todas as fotos" = see all images. You will notice new photos added with 6/12/2004 legend.

I hope Japan Parts accept the part back.

hmm... it's weird how the color would change so quickly...

don't be so quick to pull the trigger. can you wipe the brown off?

Looks fine. Carbon has a browish tint to it anyway in certain light.

Every other picture I've seen of the Kansai plug cover the lettering is gold. Was there a choice of letter color? Look at the pics in the HKS Kansai group buy thread.
