oil temp is important because if it gets too high you will spin rod bearings. then again, if your oil pressure is too low you can also blow up your motor. i would say both are equally important.

the other thing is your car comes with a guage for oil temp its not very good and doesn't give actual temperatures but you can tell if its getting to hot or if its running in normal range (about 1/3) so I would go with the pressure if I had to choose.

Your car comes with a water temp gauge not an oil temp. Unless you got the gauge pack that goes under the radio but, then you would already have oil pressure and temp. The car has an idiot light for low oil pressure in the dash. There is a good chance by the time you see you have lost oil pressure it's too late to do much good, unless there is a low pressure warning light. I would put an oil temp gauge in so you know when the oil in the engine is good and warm. The oil takes longer than the water to warm up. You can also use it to judge if your cooking the oil and adjust your cooling down time and oil change intervals.

Oil temp. Pressure is nice, it helps you know how hard you can drive your car by measuring the oil pressure at certain RPMs while warming it up but not too important. If you lose oil pressure under WOT your car is pretty much done. It may last a while after that but you messed it up good and plenty. Plus your dummy light is bright enough and will catch you attention just as fast if not faster than an aftermarket guage would. I would go with temp all the way. You know when your warm. You know when you arent. You know how long to let it cool and warm and you know if your overcooking your oil while beating on it.

You have an IDIOT light for pressure. Oil temp is the only thing not monitored (listed) that you might want to keep an eye on.

Run 150 for 5 miles you will see 100psi of oil constant the whole time but your temp gauge will increase way up into dangerous #'s. It is nice to see when your oil cooler catches up and gets the oil back down to temp. Especialy before shutting the car off. It's kinda like an idiots turbo timer too.

I was kinda split too, but with a water temp (in car stock) and EGT (one of my aftermarket gauge choices) going in, I figured I'd go with a pressure.

quick decision, install the guage pod under the radio or inplace of it and a triple pod on the a pillar and put one of each in the car just to be safe

Both are good to have. If you run youre car hard a lot...you definitely need both. If you just do short pulls or runs, then oil temp isnt as important. Just give youre car sufficient time to warm up and cool off.

Oil Pressure, on the other hand, it VERY important, for all driving conditions. Just go ask EvoVIII_SFL, who just blew his motor from oil leak. His thread is in the engine section. Prolly cost him 8 grand for new parts.

Id say, if I could only have one, PRESSURE!

I think a Boost gauge is the number 1 gauge to have. Second would be Oil Pressure, third is personal preference (EGT, Oil Temp)
