Cool Waiting list spot sales/trades

I just got a call from the dealership where I have a deposit, and they have three evos in their allocation left for me to choose from. I think there are two reds and a yellow. All with large wings, and one of the red cars with a sunroof, iirc. MSRP guaranteed.

I am not going to buy the car, but I'd be willing to sell out my spot in line. Not looking to get rich, only passing on my spot to another enthusiast: I'd just like to see my deposit back + interest for the year I've had it in + a ride in the car once you get it. Of course, if someone wanted to give me huge money I probably couldn't say no Dealer is in greater DC (VA).

Told them I'd give them a call back later today. I'm going out of town, but I think I can just let my spot slide back to the next allocation if we can't work it out immediately. I figure paypal would be the way to go if someone wants the spot, and we can play phone tag with the dealer so everyone is sure they're safe in the transaction.

email me at document_a@hotmail.com asap if you're interested.

To the mods: Figured this was better off in here than in for sale/trade, but move it if you like. My thought was to give the people who obsessively check the rumor board first crack, rather than people who happen to be shopping for a key chain or something.

That's not a trade... that's just selling your spot.

This is a trade:

I think we seriously ought to look at setting up a trade system. If allocations are fixed (as they appear) its worth the cost of a plane ticket (or shipping a car) in my opinion to get the color/option combo I want, and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.

I'm looking for a non-sunroof car.
First choice would be yellow, second choice would be blue.

If my dealer gets something different I'll post my allocations and see if anyone is interested in a trade....

True, not really a trade. Wanted to make a distinction between selling for profit and passing along my spot at cost, which is all I want. Sale and trade guidelines should both probably be set up, IMO, since there's likely to be a flurry of each right about now.

As I said, I believe one of the cars at my dealership is a non-sunroof yellow, but as you point out, I want my money back, not a trade. Good luck!

I like this idea of setting up a trade system.

But I got lucky; dealership got only three cars, I was second on the list, and STILL got exactly what I wanted!

You can list your waitlist spot for sale or trade. This should help keep the posts in one place for everyone to check on.

You guys are all getting dealers to talk to you about options and packages and deposits... I can't get anyone to tell me info on anything.. There is no way i'm giving a dealer money for something that they won't give me any info on... I guess I'll try to be patient and keep attempting to get the info needed...

Yep, stohlman's. Paul gave me a call.

So, no takers for a "trade" of your $500 for my $500 and a guaranteed evo? What's the world coming to?

that's probably we are the only ppl from the d.c area and we already on the list so no reason to trade.................. maybe you should look for someone from a differnt state like jonasan50

another reason i could think of is ppl from the d.c areas whent to antoher dealer and have a none refundable deposit that's why they can't back it up and trade with ya

Another stohlmans customer to-be here...I thought I was #6, maybe it was #5. Anyway, when Paul got to me, he gave me the choice of black or yellow with big wing/no roof or red with big wing and roof. I went for the yellow...

My logic was pretty simple - I didn't want black (I have three black cars at home as it is) and I didn't want a sunroof. If the yellow's too bright for me (distinct possibility), I'll just run some special stages through the mud and not wash it off

Well, I worked with paul, and he handed me off to a guy named harold heeter for the paperwork.

I know that the list changed a lot over the last 6 months, b/c when i signed up I was # 8 on the list, and I was bumped up to # 6 recently, and I guess that others in front of me passed b/c i basically got my 1st choice.. maybe i was the only one that was reachable during the day. I know I called paul around 1 pm, and he said he was going to call all the deposit holders and get to me in order.. I heard from him again like 3 hours later. I guess I'll see all of you guys on the day they become available .
