Funny story

It took me 3 days to change the battery on my Evo.

I go to my car the other morning and the alarm didnt talk to me and the car wouldnt start. Found out I had a dead bat. Well the bettery was kinda old so I decided to put a new one in it. I get to the parts store on base and ask the guy for a battery for a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage. I figured it should work since the layout is the same. I get home and the battery fits in the slot but the leads are twice the size of the connectors. I start cussing and head inside. I didnt feel like driving 40 back to the base so I could exchange it. Start tomorrow.

I take the battery back and all the batteries he has have the same fat leads on them. Next I head out to the Belgian parts store. They want 65 Euros for there cheapest battery. To hell with that. At the same time I started looking for new connectors since I am going to have to go with the other bat. None and the only one that would fit was 22 Euro.

The next day I go back and buy the battery with the fat leads and I figure I will afro- engineer the connectors. I whip out the dremel and the only bit I had was like fine sand paper. It took me 3 hr to dremel out the damn connectors.

The last time I change a battery ever again. I will just keep jumping it.

cool you are form belgium! where exactly? i use to live in Embourg close to Liege. u speak francais or nederlands? probalby both
BTW 65 euro for a battery is standard price for a good brand battery, and it a not good to keep jumping old batteries...just invest the money and be done with no problem with fitting or recharging.

I am active duty military. Being in Europe is great but the town of Mons sucks.

65euros may be a good battery but with the current exchange rate it is rape.

I love this car very much but I dont plan on bringing it back with me. Wont be able to fully enjoy the car.

key word is "funds" The ARMY doesnt pay me hourly. Besides trying to make it street legal wouldnt do it much good it would still get stuck in customs.
