Life expectancy of an evo 8
i was just wondering what ppl thought the life expectancy of the evo 8 would be before something like the 9 would come out ?
i ask because i mite have to end up selling my evo because i mite be going to japan for a year to 3 years. i really love the evo and i don't think i'll ever drive anything else. i've seen the spy shots of the 9 but i'm not really digging it as much as i do the 8 and i really hope to be able to pick up another 8 when i come back.
well, anyways, sorry for the ranting but i'm just a little pissed that i gotta sell my car after only having for less than year.

I don't think the issue will be about life expectancy.. I'm sure these cars will last if they are well maintained.. HOWEVER after seeing many of cars currently ending up on the secondary market, I would have to think that neglect, modification, and wrecks will probably claim most of them.

If I am understanding this. The question is how many model years will the 8 last for. I have seen "07" as the projection however given Mitsbishi's finacial problems it is difficult to say with any degree of certainty.

Any car will last for years as long as their maintained. In the case of the Evo it's hard to say since it's a high performance machine, which no doubt will be modified and pushed hard. The question is how hard and how often, something no one will know except the owner. 3 years down the road I say it's a gamble.

i personally think if abuse becomes an issue, then it will claim a lot of cars. for instance, my one friend has been through 2 evos, 4 clutches, and now 1 turbo.... my other friend bought a beautiful gsx, very well maintained, and just recently basically blew the motor. its not so much of when the evo 8 will be fazed out, just how many evo 8's will be left around that are worth owning.....

the life expectancy of the evo? i'll tell you the life expectancy of the evo. the evo is immortal. satan himself could tear out of the ground and try to destroy the evo and it'll sit there and laugh off the abuse... besides maybe a broken clutch. a nuke could go off next to it and the evo would laugh. yeah.. it's getting late..
