if you don't like bell's policy of no test drives till you've started paperwork, then find another dealer. be as picky as jerry and george are about the women they date on seinfeld - if there's even one thing you don't like about 'em, dump 'em.
even if you have to visit 15 dealerships to find the one you like, and the one you like ends up being an hour away, don't sweat it. finding a straight-up dealer will save you so much money a month that the hassel will be worth it.
as an example of savings, i'm paying $560 a month and i firmly believe i could be paying no more than $450 a month. but i didn't shop around because i thought the deal would be the same at any building with the triple-diamonds on it. i was wrong.
good luck buying your new evo!

I dont wont bad work done. Also Global and Bell in central/north Jersey are the biggest around and i would figure they move the most cars and probably would give the best deals, right? What would be a good price to shoot for on a 2005 GSR the is 3 months old with no options?? What have other people paid for a new years EVO when it first came out??

Well dealer like when you get a cars maintainance done at there dealership regardless where youpurchased the car. They get paid fronm the factory for the scheduled maintainance. Free service for you more money for them. I'm sure you cound work out a good price a little over invoice. If they don't give you the price your looking (as long as it's over invoice). act like your going to buy it from the other dealership that same day.

Union Mitsubishi is a good place to get service
Mostly I'm trying to change the way dealers service Evo customers. Unfortunately a lot of dealers have a bad reputation of not knowing how to work on Evo's and voiding warranties. I had a long meeting with the service and parts manager about all the service issues on Evo's. The service manager and owner agreed to dramatically change they way the service Evo customers. They won't report Mod's to Mitsu Corporate and they will go the extra mile to make sure if a part need to be replace under warranty then they will make sure it will be cover under warranty.
Example: There was a sight noise coming from the tranny when the clutch was depressed. It was hardly noticeable. I took it to service to have them take a look at it. Turns out it was the throw out bearing. Not only did they replace the throw out bearing. But on the service test drive they noticed a slight grind shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. So they replace syncro's 3 thru 5. The service manager also notice a couple of burn spots on my clutch and it was about 50% gone (ok I burn the clutch a couple of times) sense the tranny had already been drop he offered to replace the clutch. All I had to do was pay for the parts. So all in all from a small noise from the clutch i got a new syncro 's 3 thru 5, transmission fluids changed and a new clutch assembly for a little over $350.
I also talked to the service manager at Union and worked out a discount to all EvoM members. When you go to get you car serviced ask for Gerome and mention that your an EvoM member to get a discount off the labor.

I just joined this site but I've been reading posts for months now. I need some advise. I've had an Electric Blue 05 GSR (no SSL) on order since this Oct. Still no car.. I've been promised delivery dates three different times and still nothing. I'm fed up. Plus I think the price is too high. We agreed on $29,999 + $595 destination/handling + $1,835 tax (6% here in PA) + $133 title/tags. So its $32,593 total out the door. What do you guys think am I paying too much? I've also heard rumors that the free scheduled maintenance may be dropped on the 05's. Any truth to that? One other thing that just makes head boil is my girlfriend tried to buy me a car cover for the EVO for x-mas and she heard a salesmen talking in the background when she was "put her on hold" which they don't know how to do it seems. And they said I Quote "This dumb broad thinks they make a car cover for the evo" That kind of disrespect makes me what to bust some heads.
Invoice on this car is 28,928 according to edmunds.com excluding destination/handling, tax, title/tags.

velosity.. your girl is not the dumby.. I had the dealer give me a cover for my "03" and it is an Evo cover. Although some dealers get rebates on their invoices a 6% gpm is not bad and your deal is much better than that... if you get the car... btw I'd complain to managment about the remark if I were you.
