Bargaining power on '04s and '05s?
I know that there are a few '04s lingering out there and I'd expects maybe a $2k price break but how about the '05s? Anyone getting a deal on one (non-MR)? Maybe even more on the '04s?
Unrelated, but I'm cross-shopping '04 GTOs which can be had for less than $25K...

I got an 05 for $30,500 out the door which is several hundred off MSRP by the time you add in tax and license. I think some other guys may have got one for less, but I was happy with that price. They had an 04 on the lot that would have gone for less, but it also had almost 200 miles on it - a demo of sorts I think.
I also looked at an 04 GTO, but wanted AWD - and I would have to get an 05 GTO over the 04. My other car is an 01 Z06 and I wanted something completely different (meaniing non GM and non V8) as a complementary car. The Evo has been perfect. Good power, great handling, and AWD.

I paid $26,100 for an '04 RS in early Oct., before the '05's came out. Deals on '04s should be great now. Expect significantly higher prices on '05's.
Cross shopping the EVO and the GTO seems pretty weird to me. Completely different cars.

There isn't much of a stock of Evos in Upstate NY that I'm seeing-- I'd love an RS if I could find one. Can anyone suggest a NY/PA/NJ dealer with -04s piling up on their lots?
As for the GTO, I think it's the deals that are swaying me. Not really an appropriate comparison, but for less than $25K, that's a heck of a lot of performance (and I've already come to terms with '05 upgrades on the GTO-- not worth another $9k in my mind)

Pay the extra dough and get the 05. Bigger turbo, better transmission, front LSD, E-ACD, more power and torque and you do not have to suffer one year of deprecation right off the bat.
