yes, the evo wing is supposed to be functional, as in create downforce, and help stick the back end of the car to the road in increase your high speed cornering ability. many stock wings do not create downforce, in stead they create vorticies at the corners and actually create lift. the 1993-1995 rx7's stock wing created lift, so does the MKIV Supra, the 94-97 mustang cobra... the list goes on...
