carbon fiber roof - guaging interest
I dont know about the rest of you with a sunroof, but I wish I had bought my 03 evo w/o the sunroof. As mod my car further, I'd love to get all that weight off of the roof.
I know a guy who can make a carbon fiber roof panel for our evo's which replaces the steel roof. Would lead to a tremendous weight savings off the highest point on our cars. I've seen him do it for a Porche 911, and once painted, you coultn't tell the difference from stock at all! Looked great!. His work with carbon fiber is top notch; I've seen some of the trunks he's done for BMW's and it looked awesome.
I'm trying to guage interest in something like this. To make it happen, he'd have to purchase a roof panel from Mitsu to make the mold or whatever for the carbon fiber. He'd need to be able to sell a few in order to make it worthwhile.
How many of you would be interested at a price around $1000? I'll try to post a pic of the porche roof soon.

How about something like this?
M3 CSL roof
Are we talking about wet or dry CF? How are you planning to attach it?
BTW -- there is an 'S' in Porsche

Oh and thanks - I thought there was something a little funny about how I was spelling Porsche!
