QuoteSeriously though, I'm thinking that Mitsubishi has a bunch of cars out there throwing ODB-II P0300 codes. As far as I know, major emissions components are mandated by the EPA to be covered for 8 years/80,000 miles. It seems that Mitsubishi hasn't been able to solve the P0300 issue. Perhaps they have farmed out the research to figure out how to fix these cars rather than slip into a deeper problem when a crapload of even stock Evos fail emissions tests.[/QUOTE]
For the record, ONLY the PCM and the cat are covered 8/80.

I'm surprised to see that they are sending these letters out to chicago now too. I'm so sad I didn't get one...hahah. If I did get the letter I would take the time off of work and have MMNA compensate me for time off, pay for hotel and then I would stand by my car and witness everything that is done to my car. Forget the little $200, you can't get anything with that and '05 already have a 10yr/100000mile warranty so what would they give you instead? just my .02 , did anyone do this yet to verify if it is legit?

Let's see
They drive your car
They change your car to 2-wheel drive and then change it back
They do x-number of dyno runs on your car
They do other unknown work to your car
They keep it for 10 working days or maybe longer
In return you get
25 bux a day
A car wash
A worthless warranty
Yeah, it sounds like a good deal to me

Is this based on your experience or what you've read? Nowhere in the letter does it mention converting to 2WD. I may have missed it but I didn't see where anyone actually had this done to their car. Just curious if anyone has any REAL experience with it.
I have 62K on my evo. Warranty was gone many moons ago.

As for converting to 2-wheel drive, well, you are correct, don't know. But AWD dyno's are rare and expensive so this just guessing on my part. I guess I would qualify it as an educated guess but nothing more.

For those interested, I called on this. The vehicle needs to have over 50K with the stock exhaust. I recently got a TBE from AMS so I was no longer a candidate (and therefore stopped asking more questions ).
