You are getting shocked because your car is creating the static field as it travels down the road. Yes, even rubber tires will create a static charge just like when you scuff your tennis shoes on carpet and then touch metal. When you exit the car and touch the metal surface you are creating a low resistance ground for that charge to dissipate through. Easiest solution is to touch the metal part of the door before you put your feet on the ground. Or you can buy a grounding strap that hangs below your car. They most certainly work, we use them on military aircraft so that sensitive electronics aren't destroyed by static build up.

Thumbs up shocking solution

Use Static Guard or Cling Free both available at the grocery strore. I tried it and it works. Just spray the seats lightly. Each spraying lasts 4-6 weeks before you wear too much off for it to still be effective.

maybe it wont hurt so much if I try not to close the door with my Privates,,,,,lol

I do have the grounding kit and it dosnt help...... Im going to try the Static cling stuff.....or maybe even some scotch gaurd???????
