My Evo w/winter tires was unstopable, until the snow got over 9". When I backed out of the driveway, the snow packed under the car so much that it pushed the rear end up, leaving the rear tires to just spin in the air.

I put mine on the stock Enkeis, but they will be scratched and dinged if you do that, I was willing to accept that and I don't have enough $$ for new rims anyway. Plus, Colorado is murder on cars, and my paint is already chipped to hell, so I just figure hey it's not a show car, it's a go car. I got the same size as the Advans, I have the Dunlop Winter Sport M3.

How are you going to burn up a clutch or transfer case if you aren't slipping the clutch? I just leaving mine in a 2nd and keep it below redline and have some fun when i'm out in an empty parking lot.....if i;m just normal driving i just short shift...works great!
On the E-brake....i believe it doesn't matter whether you have the clutch in or not...if it doesn;t have an ACD the rear differential doesn't disengage from the front wheels.....this puts a lot of stress on the drive chain because the back wheels don;t want to spin..and the fronts do. At least that's house I understood it.

yeah, as long as you aren't launching or slipping the clutch is a little rally style funn in 2nd harmful for the evo?

I wouldn't do that if I were you.
Yeah, I drove to work today (Wisconsin) and last night we got almost a foot of snow.
The thing about the EVO is you can go through ANY depth of snow...
But the front end can only handle so much.
Every orifice of my front end is PACKED with snow. Already cracked it slightly LAST year by the lower intercooler pipe becasue I was snowplowin!!!

Has anyone noticed that if you drive in the snow, wait until the next day and check the under the rear bumper. There are sometimes a block of snow and ice that weight probably 20 pounds or more that is trapped under the rear bumper. Any way to prevent that from happening?
