Evo VIII best all around car ever?

I live in michigan and today we got hit with that snow snorm... I have yokohama avs winters on my evo and its amazing... I couldnt beleive how could this car is in the winter. Hands down this is better then 4x4 suvs in the snow or rain. I felt like iwas driving crazy just by doin the 40mph speed limit when everyone else was doing 10. Then you throw back on the stock advans and this car performs better then pretty much any car in the summer. Im under the impression the evo is one of the greatest multi-weather cars ever made

One of the new super cars will eventually get my vote, a lot of them are coming out in AWD, till then the FQ400 (since the next best AWD if the Lambo it beats)

^^He's talking about performance all around in any type of weather and whatnot, not necessarily which is faster.

yea all around, not pure speed. The viper is obviously fast as ****, but i am sure that it isnt going to do to well in the snow.

The author of this thread was calling the EVO the best all around car, and some of you just keep comparing all around performance. The Viper as some of you have used as an example is an awesome performance vehicle, but it is by no means a daily driver. Another example used was the M3, while it is a great all around car, there are things you get with the EVO you do not get with the M3, such as all weather performance. The EVO does everything well, and on many occassions, it does things very well. It is my belief that the EVO is the best all around car in the United States of America and these are my reasons-

#1- All weather performance, the EVO is useful in almost any situation. It can perform in the rain, on the snow, on the mud, on the dirt, at the drag strip, on a race course, on the autocross, in the mountains on a twisty road. Not many vehicles can claim this.

#2- Daily driving capabilities and a relatively comfortable interior (Recoro Seats) with room for five adults.

#3- 0-60 times in 4.6-5.0 seconds and 1/4 Mile times in 13.2-13.6 seconds and trap speeds at 99-103MPH.

#4- Inexpense and ease to modify. $2,000 to $2,500 can possibly turn your 13 second EVO into a low 12s and high 11s EVO and add an extra 100WHP+ to your EVO. Huge aftermarket support, from Vishnu, Dynoflash, AMS, Turbo Trix, HKS, and etc.

#5- AWD and great traction, 1.6 to 1.7 second 60FTs

#6- Great handling abilities, the best handling Sedan in the United States of America.

#7- Super car brakes!!! Any car that can brake 60-0 in under 120FT is just awesome, the EVO can do it under 110FT and that is simply amazing. Remember we are talking about a four door sedan here, not a super exotic Porsche.

#8- Relatively inexpensive pricing, from $27,000 for a RS to $35,000 for a MR. Great value for what you get in return.

#9- Awesome resale value, a 2003 EVO GSR still has Kelly Blue Book retail value of $28,800 (with 30,000 miles). Compare that to a 2003 Honda S2000 which has a Kelly Blue Book retail value of $26,600 (with 30,000 miles).

#10- Good gas mileage, the EVO is rated at 19/26 MPG.

#11- Top Speed- 150MPH+

If somebody else can think of anything else that would be great. So these are the reasons why I believe the EVO is simply the best all around car. I know other cars can do what the EVO does, but it would be difficult to find one that does all of what the EVO does.

The Carlton was a good car with awesome power, but it lacks the AWD and the all weather capabilities of the EVO and is much heavier and much more expensive I believe, weren't only 950 of them even built from the late 80s to the early 90s.

I'd take a Humvee with armor plating, a TOW, and a roof mounted 50cal and drive right over your Evo after I shot out the tires.

But yeah...these Evos are pretty practical
