that's ok. i factored the value off of my old address in Brooklyn, NY (zipcode 11201) & most NJ dealers take values from NY anyway. the value i used is the wholesale value what he would get if he traded it in. that is also the value assuming the car is in "excellent" condition meaning no visual or mechanical problems.

You need to try to find out how the car was driven. Has it been raced, run in HPDE events, auto-xed, etc.? If so, I wouldn't touch it. Thing about EVOs that is different from just about every other car is that EVERYONE who buys an EVO thrashes the hell out of it.
By contrast, I'm sure that less than 10% of Corvette owners ever take their car on a racetrack. But with EVOs, it's probably 10% who don't.
