After having read the article in the Sport Compact Car magazine..and after being told by a guy who works in the Mitsubishi dealership that they will start recieving the Evo IX in mid June...i decided to wait a couple of months.

i live in the middle east and cars usualy come out one month (more or less) after the US...so i would wait

I'm not so sure the MR this year was VERY DISSAPOINTING. Six speed tranny, new better shocks, and bbs wheels= $5000? I don't think thats very logical. The MIVEC on the IX is goin to be well worth the wait in my opinion

My Money is on fall. Dealerships will say anything just to get you waiting for one. A realisic guess would be around August/September as an 06 model.

It is possible that japan would get them at that time or eariler as an 05. I dont' know if you are planning to get RHD?

As for the topic newer is alway better except for the Evo VI TME which was faster than the VII.

Mr is probably more of a collector edition with the grey i guess.

I can't wait to see the evo 9 MR. That's just going to be sick,
Cheaper, I really doubt that, If i remember right the MSRP for the MR is $35,595. Now it the 9 has all that the MR has and then some I really doubt that it will be any cheaper, most likely a bit more. Plus dont forget the huge mark up that there will be. The MR is anywhere from 3-7k above MSRP and u know when the 9 comes out it will be the same if not more. Oh and I'm not really sure about this but this would make sense. The MR will onnly be produced for only one year and only have 1000 made which means the MR's resale value will probably be the highest of all evo's. I'm pretty sure i'm right but I could be wrong. Anyway thats my 2 cents.

I'd get the MR - you all seem to have forgetting about the problems with first generation cars. I predict the IX having problems just like the early 8.

Neither if the quaife lsd will give me satisfaction. I think I can live without acd, but if the IX will have AYC then I might think about it. I predict the prices for the IX will not be cheap so thats another thing to consider.

I dont agree with you. The MR is special edition (MR). they made only 1K and its the first EVO in the US with all these new parts... etc. The 9 must have close price to the STi around 32~33K max. The price will even go lower for the 9RS which I love. Any special edition car is $$$. The 9 is not special edition.
