**evo Idleing**
Afternoon..
I've got a question about how high the EVO idles. My buddies EVO, after it's completly warmed up, and driving pretty much all day, idles around 1000rpm. Sometimes it'll drop down to about 900rpm. Just wondering if this is normal. He has NO mods. It's completly stock.
I also test drove a 05 MR and noticed it did the same after it was completly warmed up.
On another note, My wifes 325 idles at 600rpm after it's warmed up. It could be that the EVO is boosted and the 325 is N/A.
Thanks for any input.

The computer probably adjusts idle speed between 900 and 1000 depending upon the engine temp, and # of accessories running like a/c and radio, etc. to give the car what it needs at any given time for optimum performance.

mine stays at about 900 rpm with 272 in/ex with a nice lope, funny thing is that the lope is never drastic enough that is shows up on the tach. sorry if this is doesn't contribute to the thread.

should hand between 900 and 1000 rpm, unless you got cams.

THe 325 idles lower probably because it's a v6. Notice the larger the engines, the lower they can idle smoothly because of rotating mass, etc.
