DIY rear bumper heatshield
I have decided to make my own rear bumper heatshield because ordering one from the US takes too long and besides that I dont like how the other ones look like. I dont like the CF piece where your bumper looks black on one side and the silver aluminum one sticks out too much. To get the size and curve right I just used paper and scissors. Took the paper design and gave it to the metal shop guy to have him cut and trim the edges to match my paper mold. Its stainless steel and is .6mm thick. The size is 8X3inches. Only cost me $2.50 for the SS piece, cutting, trimming and drilling.
Someone on this forum said they got the lancershop.com SS piece which sticks out and still had soot on the bumper. So I thought why not make one thats flush and not have it stick out which prevents buring a hole in my bumper when I do get a dp and test pipe later. I just have to see how it really fits and hope my measurement wasnt that off.
