I know the thread is old..

But, I'm in the market for a mini battery. I was wondering which one is currently best.?

Anyone have any experience with the Buschur, AMS or AWD Motorsports one? Those are the ones I'm looking at..

 

My brother has an odyssey battery on his Evo and it will die after 5 days of not being driven. I have a braille battery on my STI and even if I do not drive my car for 2 weeks it will still start. Not to mention the Braille weighs in at just 6 lbs.

What could be the cause? When I am in the market for a mini battery for my Evo I would go Braille again.

I had the ETS and I currently use the Buschur kit. David knows what he's doing. I like the Buschur tray better, mainly so I can mount my CDI box to the side of the tray. The Buschur kit looks much cleaner than the ETS kit too. The Buschur tray also meets auto cross standards too, or something like that.

 

I suspect the Odyssey battery is the same as the AMS. At least the specs are the same. I had the AMS and it worked very well.

 

When the time comes to buy a small battery, I'm definitely going Braille.

 

Braille batteries are just relabeled Deka's. The Deka is about 1/2 the cost.

AMS and Buschur used to use relabeled Odyssey PC680's and ETS currently uses a generic B&B.

 

I'm on 3-4 years on the same Odyssey... this year it started to slow crank (but still kick over) when it was cold out this "winter". Not that Texas winters are cold by Yankee standards. I'll probably try the Deka next. However, the Odyssey has not been bad to me.

 

What's the part number for the Deka battery?

 

Yeah, I guess I should have clarified.. I'm going with the Braille mini battery kit, which is cheaper than the other big name kits. If I were going with just the battery, something such as Deka or one of the generic batteries would probably be a good decision.

let's be clear on "...tons of cash..." You won't be picking up a new T3 kit with the money you'll save.

I believe the kit Buschur sells has a PC680 battery, or at least it did a few years ago. I want to say ETS uses a Braille, but I've only seen a battery once from their kit, and I can't remember. I know it is not an Odyssey.

ETS uses a B&B generic battery. Braille's are Dekas.
