Road & Track long term review...
Road & Track long term review is a good one (Feb 2005).
- The had the Evo up to 50k miles with STOCk clutch.
- Top 10 all-time greats
- High ownership cost (no repairs).
- Hold its value extremely well.
- 44 cents / cost per mile was a little above average.
- They loved every minute of it.
- Mikes cars like rx8, 350z, boxter, G35, even Lotus Elise seem like silly purchases.

I saw the article also. Some of the staff have fallen for the car. Although the story in the beginning the article is definitely fiction it does show their attachment to the car. I myself can’t see driving anything else. I may buy a new Evo someday. But others cars just don’t have the right stuff anymore.

Their clutch was replaced at 15,000 or so.
but you're right, it's abuse. Then again, all the other cars I had never had the clutch go out.
