I was never a big fan of contis... I know they come stock on quite a few european cars... Heck, even my sentra came stock with contis... Speaking of which, when I still had the advans on, I was running 36/34 ... Just to throw out some information, in the manual, it says that you can go up 2 to 4 psi from the sticker for those who do a lot of freeway commuting... It firms up the ride a bit, but it helps out a bit on tread wear...

I didn't like the contis coz the set I had, had cracks and splits on the tread blocks over the first 4k miles. Mostly on the outer tread blocks where it met the shoulder... I wasn't happy with that at all... It progressed, so after about 8K miles, I thought they weren't that safe to run on and swapped rubber...
As far as recommended tire pressure for 18s, a few of the tires I looked at have an average max psi of 44... I wouldn't recommend anything higher than 36-38psi... What you could try is try the factory settings and see where the tire scrubs. Most tires have an arrow or some kind of marking where the tread block ends meets the shoulder... Inflate it where you're above that mark and are satisfied with the ride quality... That's what I did with my azenis sports to minimize wear on the shoulder...
