It's a sad day when STi guys are doing

I couldnt read past that statement, if hes too ignorant to realize that the new equiment changed the handling dynamics of the car, there is no use to read his statements.

I have drivin my car with stock suspention around the same road corse and it wasnt as well balanced as it is with the mods of corse, but it only understeered twice with stock suspention once in carosel and once in double apex turn. The magazines DO incorectly state the sti as having "relentless understeer".

I must say that after the weekend we got some great info from Cory about what the EVO is needing as far as suspension. look for a compation rear sway bar from us and a new set of coilovers in the next few months!
PS Leh is my hero even in a STi...LOL

I really enjoyed driving then and had a great time with the STI. The torque it has on the exits is fantastic. The difference is just that the evo is more precise and goes through the corners a little quicker.
I really like both cars! Unfortunately both cars are prone to understeer.

first it was, evo has 350whp which changed to well maybe its only around 300
then we find out the evo has older tires, but oh he's done some donuts in the STi
so the excuses are from the STi side not the Evo.

no matter what u say no one cares about ur little biased test. well stick with what the automotive industry is telling us. you can keep dreaming all u want about how the stock sti is faster than the stock evo. ill stick with whats proven up to this point.
btw.. do you not think teh sti steering is sloppy and not as precise as teh evos and the suspension more loose? subarus form the beginning have been known for their understeer. i dotn see how 1 little biased test is supposed to make the whole world believe the sti does not understeer in stock configuration.

and i will stick to personal experience.
like i said before the EVO is a awsome car and i love it. I dont want u guys to think im trying to down the Evo.
yeah the stock sti was sloppier then stock evo, thats why i put springs and sways on it and me and the evo driver messed with toe and some suspention settings to make it feel better. My car now has a little bit of that quik intial turn that the evo has.
As far as the sti with understeer on stock suspention. it wasnt bad at all. Not nearly as bad as C&D makes it out to be. Very little understeer from it.

u must be very special then. as u must be teh only person that can drive thier sti perfectly to attain 0 understeer. i once saw a guy with an sti at a track day and he was fast. he even told me the sti understeers hard.. but with some mods it can be made better.. he said upgrade lateral links and toe out in the rear combined with a sway bar helped it quite a bit. but these are called mods. they dotn come with teh car out of teh factory.
one other thing the reason teh subarus r good in rally is due to their natural understeer. the drivers say its much safer when teh car naturally is set up this way. on poor road conditions the subarus will perform better. but unfortunately most tracking is done in the dry.

oh noes! we're trolls
awesome vid btw. love the sound of the boxer engine.
who in the world questioned his driving skill? if you harbor any doubt, then please let me say: dude can f*cking drive, that's a badass time in all regards and no one was questioning his driving skill.
i do question his integrity as a test-giver between the two. i didn't say the evo must win--i never said that.. i think it would be close if the two were correllating years, but as it is he labels his thread as the "REAL" evo/sti comparo, when that simply isn't the case. i'd go on to wager that the 04/05 evos are more common now than the 03s, which would make the 03's a minority in the populace. but whatever, if you think it's all good, then it's all good. i personally would put my money on the 05 sti over the 05 evo gsr... but it'd be much closer than what we are led to believe from his thread is all.
