You should list parts and price. Sorry it happened, but just curious, why are you fixing it and selling it? Fix it and drive it.

nope, if a car isn't reliable from the factory, it can only get worse.. it'll cost me at or around $1500 to fix it stock, maybe a little more to make it completely stock... i'll trade it in on a new Scion TC paid for and roll the warranty for 100k

edit running HKS 264s and HKS cam gears set to -2 on both sides.. i also had headstuds

You sure your adjustable cam gears didn't give and allowed the valvetrain to collide with the pistons? Valve float seems unlikely unless you've removed the redline fuel cut and have been abusing the hell out of it.

Hahahaha, they won't prove **** until you bring them a reason (lawyer and a law suit).

that is a possibility... however the timing was perfectly on and i doubt the company would screw me over on $1500... this is a company i've done business with for 5 years and spent well over 30k with them on all of my cars and my family has spent money with them as well...

that was the first guess, was that the car jumped timing or detonated....

my experience: get new valves, springs, retainers when running ANY aftermarket cams whether they say to or not....

the car will be fixed and sold as stock... parts will be for sale, but looking for local pickup only.. msg me on AIM if interested..

labor $550+
parts $530+ gaskets and oils
labor for machine shop ???
Who diagnosed your floating valves ? Did you knwo the stock ecu has a 7606 rpms red line ? I have never seen valve float to cause piston to valve contact. Did you miss any shifts ?

Just because you've spent money with them doesn't mean they know why the valvetrain collided with the pistons. Detonation has nothing to do with that either. I'd bet a solid $500 that your adj. cam gears took a **** on you and slipped out of timing allowing the collision to occur.

I don't like the HKS units because they are three screw, however if they are locktited and checked every so often it should be ok. My red one is about to get the 5 bolt units at AMS next week. If I chew the valvetrain it just gives me an excuse to build the engine
