Windshield problem, help

Windshield cracked, help
So I'm driving on the expressway and this giagantic truck that is carrying two wrecked cars decides to pull out right in front of me. In doing this hasty move, it either kicked up a gynormous rock or one fell out of one of the wrecked cars. The said rock proceeded straight into my windshield, thankfully not through it. Unfourtunately it left a nice crack in it, although its not huge.
To get to the point, how much would a new windshield cost me? I am hoping it is not too much considering its the same part as the Lancer ES. Anyone have any idea?

i think it's between 300-500. same thing happened to me. started out as a 5in. crack. i haven't replaced it in about 6 weeks and the crack extended about 1/3 of the way across the windshield. *i really should get it fixed. =j

Thanks man. From what you say, I may want to replace this soon
For reference, can anyone confirm this? (180 or 300-500?)

I just had a stone chip fixed on mine. My insurance picked it up. If you have full coverage you most likely have glass coverage. I know that it would cost me a 100 for a new windshield. But most glass shops will cover the dectuctable. I would check your policy. That's what I did has soon has I got the chip

ok, replace it. Make sure you get the oem ones.
the guy come to your house is the best. That just means he knows how to install winshields.
If you don't like the cheap way, just replace it. What's the big deal? I'm trying to help, not everyone could pay that much money for a windshield.
And really, I've paid $700 for my prelude before, so I don't think it's going to be $300.

I got a crack spread across my entire windshield that I've had for like a year, just waiting for winter to be over to get it done. Go talk to your insurance company, I got windshield insurance on my car, and since windshields are counted as a safety device or something like that, they cannot raise your rates if you make a claim. If I want mine replaced all I got to do is go in tell em I got a crack along it, they come out and look at my car and tell me whether they'll cover it, simple as that.
