I personally know of a situation in which a man died after doing this. He was in his 70's and forgetfull so he 's unloading his groceries and leaves the car running in his garage ( which was attached to his house). The carbon monoxide found it's way into the house and killed him and his maid. They found him slumped over his computer and the car in the garage with an empty gas tank.
