You dont need high temp paint for the vent. it doesn't get hot enough. I used regular balck paint and mine hasn't had any problems...even on the underside closest to the manifold (I painted both sides)

resprayed with flat black paint 3-4 months ago.. looks good still

Resprayed mine with 2000 degree flat black Krylon... Have not looked back...

regardless what you paint this with its not like its hard to paint five seconds to take off then clean and spray unless you need to do some sanding for some reason but its not like its a task.

No one used permanent marker. Because thats what I intended to do. Mine wasn't so bad, a bit of paint chipped off here & there.

I took mine off, sprayed it black and it's been fine since. This was probably 3.5 years ago.

take it off and spray paint it, just make sure you prep the surface so it comes out right the 1st time.

sprayed mine with flat black. high heat paint..2000 degrees..never looked back

My car is an '03 so it has been around as long as any USDM. I saw this thread when originally started and thought I needed to do something about my vent too. Well, I didn't and the vent has faded to a silvery black and I like it. Lazy pays off.
