jdm evo 8 vs us evo8

Has anyone else noticed that the jdm version has a different shaped rear bumper? It's about the only thing I prefer on the US version- you are getting those crappy seats for your fat bums, less power, bigger bumpers, heavier, softer, no ayc (don't let anyone tell you it's better without) slower and no distress flare! I feel sorry for you

don't you wish you could have the version?

Why would I want a JDM version that will cost $10k more, when I am going rip half of that stuff out and replace it anyway. If Im replacing it anyway I don't want to pay more for what I'm throwing away.
If you never modify your car, maybe the JDM would be better. I would prefer to have an RS, since Im gonna change the brakes, suspension, seats etc. anyway.

Its going to be heavier though yes? No ayc and your version is just as heavy. Not stirring for a fight, just posting conversation. I'd hate it if a car like the evo was modifed the way it is for you- less horses etc. It is definitely softer, you couldn't drive the jdm version on your roads. Tarmac in Japan is like race track smooth, even european roads don't compare. My jdm version is arriving in two months and I'll have one of the first. But yours are being built first!!

It is definitely softer
Wrong. If you would read some posts you would see that the US version retains ALL of the same suspension settings. It isn't softer.

The USDM Evo is said to have the same suspension set up as the JDM ver. It's not softer. Evolutionm is said to have influenced this, as Mitsubishi has been watching this forum.

EDIT: broeli beat me to it.

I recently ordered a JDM EVO VIII GSR with all the trimmings from EI.

Are you telling me my suspension setup as received from EI will be way too stiff?

Or, do you think EI modifies the factory stuff for our conditions over here. (Reno, NV)

I am a car lover, not a mechanic... I wanted EI to do all the ECU/exhaust and tuning upgrades for me.... Suspension was never even mentioned.

I don't expect to see the vehicle until April... so I guesss I will have time to ask Adam about it.... But I want to sound informed...

What should I be asking him?

Thanks all..
