'05 MR or '05 GSR with SSL package?
Suppose you had to chose between an "05 MR and an '05 GSR with the sun, sound, and leather option. Let's say also that you had to keep whichever car you chose stock and that you couldn't add an aftermarket stereo to the MR. Which one would you go with, and why?

GSR w/ SSL. The leather makes the car worth $30,000+
the MR is sick, but i dont need that last gear and the other improvements as much as leather and a sunroof. (sounds like a sacrilege but its true).

The main different in the MR is the bilstein shocks, BBS rims, ACD and gearing. Just decide whether that's worth the extra cash to ya or not.
Although the MR corners better, I've heard it's more forgivable to the daily driver if that helps.
To me, I wouldn't fork up the extra $$$. Getting too high for a Mitsu when it pushes $38k IMO.

actually I was told the leather package holds its resale value better. Things like leather/sound system and sunroof make it seem more like an luxury top of the line item. i love my SSL package and Im not a fan of the 6th speeds....too much shifting for me in the lower rpms lol But its whatever floats your boat I suppose. I wouldnt mind having some of the other features the MR has however.

I guess it depends on if your priority is performance or comfort... if you want to go to the track or the car show. I think the MR has a slight performance advantage (does the 6 speed get better hwy gas mileage?) but if you like leather and the sun roof, take the GSR. It's a personal choice, but for me, I would take the MR (if they were the same price or $ wasn't a concern).

Actually, I would get the GSR + stuff in a minute myself. I just wanted to get a feel for what others thought. I like performance with a bit of luxury. For us daily drivers, cruise control would be great. What does cruise control weigh, a few ounces? I mean c'mon.

and why wont they offer the sis speed on the gsr?
if the mr came with leather . that would be my number one pick.

Well, I believe that the IX will have the six-speed with available leather (if the rumors are true). So the best of both worlds is right around the corner.

I have a 6 speed GSR, and its nice and economical cruising in 6th on the motorway. At 100k/h the car is doing about 2600-2800 rpm. Nice and cruisy good for the fuel consumption.
I really dislike leather for sports cars I think its too slippery. Like sne2040 said don't you slide all over the place when you are cornering fast?
Personally I would take a car with 6 speed, and better suspension over car with sunroof and leather. Especially a car in the vein of an evo.
