Well I've owned a 1975 Anniversary 911, a 1978 Carrera, 914 six and a 1958 speedster and I can honestly state that my Evo is my favorite car I've ever owned; it corners like a slot car, and with a few mods pulls a 12.2/117 quarter, holds five people and my dogs, has a huge trunk and is easy to mod and work on. The brakes stop the car so well I can imagine the Earth's rotation slowing. I use this car for my daily driver, to and from the hospital for rounds, to the grocery store and to take my family out for canyon carving on the weekends. The only gripe I've had concerning the Evo is the 1 micron thick paint. I will have the car painted in the near future with a better quality paint and clearcoat. I think I would have to say that for what it is, it is probably the best performance sedan for the price anywhere in the world.

um, i love my evo but personally, i'd stick to the porsche. Unless you need the utility( i.e. 4 doors and a trunk), the 911 is a very fine automobile. now if you want to go autocrossing and such, an evo is much better, but it's not like you have a civic or neon and want to upgrade. personally i like 911's, just can't afford one.

why should i convince you to spend money on a car your already trying to find ways on regretting?
if you plan on relying on our biased judgements, go on honda-tech.com and ask them fools what you should do.... i promise EVERY person is gonna say... "man i'd buy a 92-95 hatch for $2-4k and put a b20 vtec turbo, blah blah blah" and you KNOW it's true!!!!

I owned a 2002 Carrera 4S which I tracked quite a bit, & loved that car. Had a chance to take an Evo MR out for a test drive and bought it on the spot. For my daily driver and occasional track use, the Evo does everything I need and more. The Evo is absolutely one of the best performance bargins available, which prompted me to sell the 911. I could no longer justify the additional costs associated in keeping the Porsche, (car insurance w/ teenage drivers in your household for instance), for what I felt brought me very little in return.
Now granted my MR will never have the same valet parking cachet that my C4S did, (Hey, it matters to some people), but I'm mature enough not to care about such things. Actually my Evo is much more rare in my area, 911's are a dime a dozen and I get more stares & thumbs up in the Evo.
