How can Vishnu get 390HP with very few mods when the FQ-400 takes a Garrett turbocharger, an Owen custom-cast stainless steel exhaust manifold, Omega forged pistons, HKS forged con rods, HKS 680cc injectors, a Zytec high-pressure fuel pump, HKS steel head gasket, Motec M800 ECU, HKS iridium spark plugs, a JanSpeed high-flow catalyst, and HKS head and big end bolts?

HKS/Vishnu parts? Crappy Euro tuning of the ECU? The lack of an XEDE? Just suggestions... I certainly am not sure... Maybe different dyno systems?

just a side note, to get any more out of vishnu's car, you need to spend big $$ and get a new turbo, etc. With the FQ, now theres more room for more mods, as to make it to 500HP wouldnt be that hard to do.

3 possibilties
1)the fq-400 is probably tuned pretty conservative because they have to sell it to the public and warranty it. I'm guessing they could probably squeeze some more power out of it with a more aggressive tune.
2)The horsepower figures might also be underrated.
3) Vishnu tooning rules all

It looks like that car is built to last, not just hopped up stocker. Will still don't know how long a evo pushing that turbo to the max will last because most have less then 50k miles on them. Also I would say that car is build using the best parts and a Motec is a little better then the Xede that's why Mitsu chose it.

Because the British have absolutely no idea the value of money, especially when it comes to car prices. By the time you add all the taxes (VAT, etc.) cranked into a British car, it will cost at least 50% more than the same model in the USA.
Plus, most expensive cars in Britain are purchased under a system where corporations buy cars for their executives as a business perk. That runs up the price of cars there even further.
