Thanks

I sent an email over to Mitsubishi about this and included some parts diagrams and photos so they could see what we are talking about. As of this morning I havent heard back from them so it will probably be next week.

Hey WalpoleMitsu, do you know what the part number is for this part that mounts on the firewall that the evo and ra strut bar bolts to? Is it the same between the evo and ra?

Mitsubishi isnt even 100% sure how that part is serviced. They pulled a service manual for it and they are pretty sure it comes with the upper cowl panel, but there are 0 in stock within the US.

Alright from what im lookin at it looks like you have to buy the top cowl panel. cause thats what it bolts to. and im guessing that that backet is part of it because doesnt list it seperate. now to answer your question are they the same no. if the top cowl panel is the right part. the part number for a evo is mn161351 and for yours is mn186614. hopefully this will help. if you want pics i can fax them for you. Thanks frank

Well, here is where first hand/many years with Mitsu comes in handy. Juan, the piece you are looking for, you mean the actual piece that the stru tower bolts, actually bolt into?

Well, I know on the Evo, it is actually welded to the firewall frame. So odds are, it may actually be something Mitsu does not service seperate. If that goes for the RA, I am not 100% sure, but I would imagine so.

I wish CAPS was working on my computer. I would be able to at least check a couple of spots that may be getting overlooked.

Yeah, I'm just looking for the area that it bolts to. Here is a pic I found that made me think that you could buy it seperate. Attachment 301487

Well, I guess that puts an end to the easy way to do this, I guess its time now to make my own. I would like to thank everybody who helped me find out some of this info on this part. I do have one other part number request. I am looking for the tabs or connectors that hold the lower rear seat down for a 05 evo 8. Its the tabs on both sides that you pull up on the seat and the metal tabs of the seat come out of.

Thanks
John
