The older part is MN143555
Wonder what the difference is between the two. If you have an 03 then it's the older part.

Ahh, I didn't realize you weren't USDM.
Yes it's probably different. The tint color changes the part number so if yours is clear glass where ours is green the number would be different. I looked around and can't find that number. If I plug it into Mitsubishiparts.net it doesn't come up so it is not a USDM number.

The JDM E8 MRs come with green tinting tho...

Well since the number doesn't come up on mp.net then it is not a usdm number for any lancer any year, etc. so I can't say what windshield that is. If the dealer says it's right then it should be based on how they look up parts based on VIN or year and model.

OF course you have an 04 there is a break point in 04 where it changed numbers.
Best I can tell, based on build date it switched to the new number August 04 which is really the begining of the 05 model year.
