Top 10 Most stolen cars by State Farm

Top 10

http://www.statefarm.com/insuranc/au...s/grndthft.htm

According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB®), the most popular sedans -- the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Ford Taurus are particularly attractive targets for thieves, along with sport utility vehicles (SUVs), pickup trucks, and mini-vans.

The NICB®, using data reported by its member insurance companies, has compiled a list of the 10 vehicles most frequently reported stolen in the U.S. in 2002. That top 10 includes:

  1. Toyota Camry
  2. Honda Accord
  3. Honda Civic
  4. Chevrolet Full Size C/K pick-up
  5. Ford Full Size Pickup (150/250/350)
  1. Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee
  2. Oldsmobile Cutlass/Supreme/Ciera
  3. Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan
  4. Ford Taurus
  5. Toyota Corolla

mostly trucks and accord and civic never fails to make the list, along camry.

That's because they are popular cars...most cars are stolen for the parts...

they are most stolen mainly because they are easiest to steal. You don't see nice cars on there because they have good security systems.

there is another list that has them in percentage order, as in amount stolen for sold. i think the escalade tops that list.

yeah, just pure numbers are misleading, b/c you don't see the percentage stolen to the amount of vehicles made / sold

yeah, there are what, 1000 evo MR's in the us (or world..?)? so if 100 evo MR's get stolen, thats 10% of all MR's. now if there are 3 million civics made, and 3000 are stolen, thats only .1% of all teh civics made, but there are still more stolen the the MR. those numbers are stupid. if they made any difference, then the insurance rates for camrys and civics should be higher then my evo

Guys, it's this simple 1) They are stolen for parts like someone already said - most common vehicles make it easier to sell the parts b/c there is more demand. 2) Camry and Accord are NOT the easiest cars to steal, they are just the most sold cars b/c of reliability (this ties into #1) and being the most sold typically means the most stolen b/c there are more on the road, simply increasing chances. If you go by percentage according to how many sold you get a different list like mrbkkt1 said.
