you have to remember that we are in the USA (most of us on this forum), therefore the "most important" type of racing here is drag. not many people (especially ignorant ones) care about how well the car turns or stops. the roads here are mostly straight, as the larger part of the country is flat. so as much props as the evo gets from various car enthusiasts. there's always a comparison that deals with it's 1/4 mile. it's a much easier comparison to make than say, how well it handles and performes overall. now, in the lil utopian parallel universe i'd like to call "touge", all cars would be compared based on their performance on some specific course. in that universe we, the evo owners, would get the last laugh seeing our cars hanging with the likes of exotics with 6 figure price tags.

It doesn't matter if we're in the US or not, the Evo is still not designed just for straight. They took every category in consideration in order to build such a great machine.

Anyway, the upgrade didn't yield significant horsepower increase. And plus, the cobra might have more power so it's not a even level playing field... The evo got pwned!!

...and the troll resurfaces...good to see you're not dead, nasti. Thanks for trying to keep our egos in check, but we'll never regret buying our EVOs like you regret buying your STi.

As was said, I'll try to contain the shock of seeing a 390 rwhp car beating an EVO in the quarter mile.

7K in mods with someone having a clue as to how to properly modify, will yield a 500 plus wheel hp evo on "pump gas."

Motec
Clutch
Turbo/Header
Cams
Tranny Build
Alcohol Inj.
FMIC
Turbo Back
Air Suction

Hell even a stroker kit...
I dont think so. 500+ whp on pump isnt going to happen on a 2 liter. If you stroke it and use an ems youre well over 7k when youre done.

HKS RS Intake $300

What was the Evo guy thinking when he called the Mustang out?
You can't really consider the flywheel a power mod when racing from a dig. It's harder to get a good launch and get going. It's good for quick reving once moving, but the jury is still out on the negative effects of a lightened flywheel on a F/I car. I personally believe that they put you out of your power and so do a lot of other peple.

Just do a search for all of his posts. Out of all of them, I don't think I saw a single positive post of his about Evos. If he did post something positive about Evos, it was lost in a sea of his negative posts about them.

He's not just a Subi fanboi, he's actively and consistently campaigning against Evos on an Evo site. I hope I never become a big enough *** to do that on a Subaru site, and feel he's a good example to all of us for what "not to do" to other groups of performance car enthusiasts.
