Ecu Questions

Ok I know this is a dump question but I have to ask it.

What is the difference between stock Ecu, stand alone and piggy back? Which is better and why? And how do they work?

Sorry for sounding like a noob but its forign territory for me.

What's up Belgium?
Stock ECU (Electical Control Unit) is the computer that comes with your car and controls everything.
Piggybacks, like the S-AFC, work with the stock ECU and gives you a little control of fuel; http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105569
Stand Alones, something like AEM's EMS, completely replace the stock ECU and gives you complete control;

Which is better? It all depends on what you want to do with your car and how comfortable you are with tuning. With more control comes a higher cost and higher consequences if you screw up.
