EVO in JGTC 300...
I was always wondering why it's not there and the CUSCO Subaru is...then I saw a show about the race this morning...
1. Mitsubishi Motors is broke
2. It costs about $1 Million to make 1 car to the specs, do teams usually have 3?
3. It costs $3 Million a year to race
so unless some huge tuning company in Japan is willing to sponsor, I can't see a factory sponsored ride anytime soon.....booooo.

jgtc require 2 wheel drive vehicles that is why evo's, sti's are not in that racing series. the cusco sti is modified to only have rwd.

even with the drivetrain difference...There might be other problems...
If a team was to enter the EVO in the race...would they use the 4G63 motor?
I don't know what the rules are for motors...they just seem confusing
All Toyotas were using 3S-GTE with 3UZ-FE engines this year, Nissan Zs were allowed to twin-turbo up a VQ30DE, the Garaiya had a VQ35D, Honda and I think the RE RX-7 were the few that actually used tuned up versions of their factory motors.

BTW, Mitsu runs factory Evos (PUMA EVO) in Super Taikyu (sort of like Speed World Challenge). The lead driver is "The Professor" Nakaya. He is in a lot of BMI vids (the guy with the black and white "Puma" nomex). They have different rules from JGTC...
Also, they do run a 4G63. All sorts of cool cars run in Super Taikyu - I'd rather watch those races than a lot of the crap we get on TV here.
