Driving on the ice
So, today i was forced to go to my lakehouse in wisconsin to visit with relatives. I thought it was going to be the same old boring "hi, how are you" crap all day long. Well, at first it was, but that was until i walked down to the ice and noticed how thick it actually was. Then i noticed further down the lake there were SUV's out on the ice. So.....i decided to ditch the family and take the evo out onto the ice. Yes, i was extremely scared and worried at first, but it turned out fine. If you want to know how it was.....it was AWESOME. Not only was it fun, but it really helped me learn the very limits of my car. I tought myself how to do perfect 360's at 40 mph, pull J turns, get into a 500 foot horizontal powerslide, and much more. It was so much fun, i cant even begin to explain it....well.....that is except for me burning up my clutch like crazy (i need a new one soon anyways), but other than that it was probably the most fun ive ever had in a car. If anyone gets the opportunity to go out onto the ice, i stronly recommend it. However, you really do have to make sure the ice is thick enough. I wound up taking an ice fishing drill and drilled all the way through to measure how thick the ice was. It wound up being about a foot thick, so i was pretty confident. So, if you get the chance take it....its awesome. However, i would make a friend go first....just to make sure the ice is truly thick enough.

I really wanted to make a video of it, but i didnt bring my camera with because i wasnt expecting the ice to be as thick as it was. Next time i wont forget though. Hopefully ill be able to go up there again before the ice melts though.

It usually doesnt fall through until the ice is only a couple of inches thick, and thats with a 5000+ lb truck. So yeah, a foot of ice is certainly thick enough.
